RYAN PERRY D.C.
Dr. Perry attended Simon Fraser University in Canada because of its prestigious Kinesiology program. He focused his studies on ergonomics (the human interaction with technical and work situations) and exercise physiology. After graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his goal to become a Doctor of Chiropractic.
Dr. Perry attended the Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS) and graduated in December of 2005. Upon graduation he was offered a chiropractic position at The Arcadia Spine Center where he had previously completed his internship during his last year of chiropractic school. This experience provided Dr. Perry with the knowledge of how to effectively run a successful private practice at the same time providing the highest quality of care to its patients. Along with Dr. Yu, Dr. Perry opened the Pro-Active Wellness Center to provide the same quality of care to the residents of the South Bay.
Dr. Perry's background in kinesiology and chiropractic allows him to approach every patient with perspectives from both fields. His extensive training in ergonomics helps him understand the cause of the patient's problem while his chiropractic and A.R.T. training provides the tools needed to treat the patient's symptoms. His understanding of exercise physiology assists him in creating exercise programs to rehabilitate patients and keep them functioning at their highest potential.
Dr. Perry has been fortunate to have the opportunity to work with many different patient populations. He has treated college athletes from Cal State LA and Pasadena City College, as well as patients from West Hollywood HIV clinic and Los Angeles Free Clinic. Additionally, Dr. Perry has successfully treated many patients with conditions originating from their occupation, automobile accidents, and stresses of everyday life. His expertise in chiropractic, A.R.T., and kinesiology provides him with a unique perspective on patient management.

ERIC YU D.C.
Dr. Yu was raised in Cerritos, California where an automobile accident in high school first exposed him to the chiropractic profession. He and his mother were involved in a rear-end collision and were referred to a chiropractor. The experience was unpleasant to say the least as the treatment procedures were never explained and the doctor was rarely in the office. Both Dr. Yu and his mother noticed very minimal relief from the chiropractic treatment and requested a transfer to a medical doctor after one month of care. The treatment by the medical doctor was also ineffective and his mother continued to suffer for years after the accident.
Dr. Yu attended the University of California-San Diego (UCSD) and received a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and a minor in chemistry. It was in San Diego where Dr. Yu volunteered at a physical therapy/chiropractic center to find out more about chiropractic and why he didn't benefit from it. This is when he realized that it wasn't the chiropractic profession that was ineffective after the accident, rather the individual delivering the treatment. Dr. Yu believed that if they had received quality chiropractic treatment after the accident, his mother would not have needlessly suffered. This is when he decided to pursue a career in chiropractic, to provide patients with this quality of care that he and his mother were denied as patients.
Upon graduation from UCSD, Dr. Yu was employed at Twombly and Erickson Chiropractic as a soft-tissue therapist and started learning about Active Release Technique. This is when he realized that he had made the right career choice and dedicated his life to becoming a highly effective chiropractor. He attended the Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS) during which time he became certified in all three levels of Active Release Technique.
Dr. Yu graduated from SCUHS in December of 2005 and was employed at private practices in Newport Beach and Whittier. It has been his life long goal to open his own office and his experiences in several different private practices have shown to be monumental in the success of the Pro-Active Wellness Center.
